  • Francisco Palazon

Principal Investigator - Ramón y Cajal Fellow

Francisco received his PhD in Materials Science at Université de Lyon in 2014. After several postdoctoral contracts and fellowships at IIT and ICMol, he moved to UPCT in 2022 with a Ramón y Cajal position (tenure track). In 2025 he established MULTIMAT.

  • Florencio Santos Cutillas

    Substitute Professor

Florencio Santos Cutillas earned his PhD at UPCT in 2019, with a thesis on Zinc-based batteries. He later obtained a competitive Margarita Salas fellowship and is now substitute professor.

  • Sahiba Bano

    Post-Doctoral Researcher - MSCA Fellow

Sahiba is a materials scientist specializing in thermoelectric materials. She earned her Ph.D. from CSIR-NPL, India, in February 2022 and subsequently joined Prof. Takao Mori's group at NIMS, Japan under the JST-Mirai project, where she has been working for three years. Her expertise includes high-performance TE materials, thin-film fabrication, and advanced characterization techniques. Recently, she was awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (2024) and will be joining UPCT, Spain as a Marie Curie Fellow to further her research with Francisco Palazon.

  • Katherine Jejen

    PhD Candidate - FPI Séneca

Katherine is a PhD candidate in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency. Under the supervision of Dr. Francisco Palazon and co-supervision of Dr. José Abad, she is at the forefront of advanced materials synthesis, characterization, and thin-film deposition techniques. Her expertise spans a range of deposition methods, including spin-coating, spray-coating, and thermal vacuum evaporation, enabling her to tailor materials for applications in solar cells, photodetectors, and batteries. Katherine was awarded the prestigious FPI fellowship by Fundación Séneca, providing vital support for her doctoral studies.

  • Gonzalo Escobar

    PhD Candidate - Predoctorales UPCT
